What is GABA? Gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, commonly known as the body’s natural tranquilizer. Many factors can influence GABA production in the brain. Low levels can be caused by poor diet, chronic stress, gut dysbiosis, and lack of sleep. GABA supplementation may help to reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation and improve sleep. How does GABA Work?
