What is Acetyl L-Carnitine? Acetyl L-carnitine (ALC; also known as levacecarnine and ALCAR) is an amino acid naturally found in the body that supports energy metabolism, mitochondrial function, cell membrane stability, and the production of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
